Sales Warrior Lesson 10: The Source of Knowledge

However, classical strategy recognizes that there are clear limits to our knowledge about the future. Even if we can clearly see dark clouds on the horizon, we cannot know whether or not it will rain. We can only say that the chances of rain are higher. There is no certain knowledge about the future except that everyone who survives will get older.

Since there is no certain knowledge about the future, we must act according to the probabilities. In most circumstances, we avoid large actions that can lead to total failure even if the probability of failure is small. We pick the highest-percentage moves, but even then we do not gamble everything on them.
